Aid Effectiveness and Donor Coordination

The implementation of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and its implications for donor activity and coordination are of great relevance to DCED members. By defining and disseminating good practice and increasing the capacity of development practitioners, the DCED seeks to contribute to the realisation of the Paris Declaration, which aims to ensure that "donors' actions are more harmonised, transparent and collectively effective". This page provides links to a selection of the many documents being produced on these issues.

4th High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, Busan, November 2011 - Joint Statement on Public-Private Cooperation

The DCED has become the 42nd signatory to the Joint Statement on Expanding and Enhancing Public-Private Cooperation, agreed at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan. The statement recognizes the critical importance of the for-profit private sector as a key engine of economic growth, job creation, innovation and sustainable development, and encourages greater cooperation between the public and the private sectors to achieve development goals. It highlights five shared principles of public-private collaboration and provides examples of potential coordinated actions and of various partnership arrangements. The DCED Standard for Results Measurement is mentioned as an example of existing guidance for harmonised results measurement practices.
