Benin

The EU has funded the operation of a website (www.economiebenin.org) which aims to facilitate the exchange of information to the private sector, particularly in relation to training, partnerships, etc.

This site includes information on:

• Donor projects in the private sector (available in French only)

A synthesis highlighting donors, cooperation programs, the term, the budget, the objectives, and the activities, including contact persons.

A Private Sector Working Group of technical and financial partners (PTFs) also exits, and meets periodically. It is chaired by the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Private Sector Promotion (MPMESP). The MPMESP coordinates the private-sector related activities of six different Ministries. Donor participants include the European Commission, Denmark, the Netherlands, the MCA, UNDP, Belgium, the World Bank, ABfD, GTZ/DED, AFD, France and Germany. Since autumn 2008, donors are coordinated by the European Union.
