Swisscontact is looking for a Head of Monitoring and Results Measurement (MRM) for the third phase of Katalyst, a market development project that aims to contribute to increasing the income of poor men and women in rural areas in Bangladesh. Successful candidates will be based in Dhaka, and must be familiar with the most recent trends in private sector development and MRM including, preferably, the DCED Standard and audits.

MarketShare Associates is hiring a Senior Consultant, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, to play a key role in driving forward MSA's results measurement practice area. The successful applicant will spend the majority of his/her time working directly with clients, supporting the implementation of results measurement systems, the design and implementation of evaluations, and the generation of MSA’s research and knowledge products.

The Cambodia Agricultural Value Chain Program (CAVAC) is recruiting for an Export Advisor in Phnom Phenh for three to six months with the possibility of an extension. The closing date for applications in 9 February 2015. 

DFID
is tendering an independent evaluation of TradeMark East Africa, a programme which aims to improve trade competitiveness in East Africa by reducing transport times/costs and improving the trade environment. The contract starts on 13 March 2014 and lasts for 45 months. Apply by 13 February 2015 at 14:00 GMT.

Adam Smith International has a number of vacancies in PSD in various countries, including a Team Leader for an M4P Programme in Kinshasa, DRC, various Advisors (agricultural specialists, economists, market development experts) for an M4P programme in Sierra Leone, and an experienced manager for the private sector development team in Nigeria (Kano and Abuja)

Swisscontact
is recruiting a full-time Senior Technical Advisor to provide support to its markets systems development projects across South East Asia. As such, it requires flexibility and a willingness to travel. This is a senior position, reporting directly to the Regional Director. The duty station is planned for Yangon but could also be Cambodia (Swisscontact is currently finalizing the assessment on placement of international staff).

The successful candidate must have 8‐10 years of work experience with a focus on the  Solid Waste Management field, preferably in development co‐operation.The position is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with frequent travel inside the country and region.

Calls for Research proposals

The Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) program has announced a call for research proposals on the effects of patterns of growth on women’s economic empowerment. This aims to generate new evidence on the impact of specific growth patterns, and which public policies and interventions can ensure that the positive effects of growth on women’s empowerment are enhanced. Applications must be submitted by 17:00 (GMT)/12:00 (EST) on February 23, 2015. The GrOW program is a joint initiative of DFID UK, The Hewlett Foundation, and IDRC.

In preparation for the fifth Global Review on Aid for Trade, 30 June to 2 July 2015 in Geneva, the WTO calls for case studies on Aid for Trade from donors and other relevant stakeholders.


ESRC and DFID
have announced a third annual funding call under the current phase of the ESRC/DFID Joint Fund for Poverty Alleviation Research. Applications to this call must address one or more of three overarching questions:
  • What factors shape pathways into and out of poverty and people’s experience of these, and how can policy create sustained routes out of extreme poverty in ways that can be replicated and scaled up?
  • What political and institutional conditions are associated with effective poverty reduction and development, and what can domestic and external actors do to promote these conditions?
  • What measures can be taken to reduce the risks and impact of violence and instability on the poorest and increase the effectiveness of peace-building, state-building and wider development interventions in fragile and conflict-affected situations?
